Thank You for Supporting Stuff the Duffle
We had a special guest thank the school for its effort with Stuff the Duffle today when LTC Catina Barnes-Ricks 'Face Timed' Mrs. Berzin's 1st grade class. Her son, Nehemiah, is in the class. She is currently stationed in Kuwait and talked with the students about how much military service personnel appreciate letters, drawings, and mementos from the U.S. LTC Barnes-Ricks also showed the class her living quarters and talked with them about the weather, time difference, food soldiers eat, and what her job entails while she is deployed.
Thank you for your support of our second Service Learning Project of this school year, Stuff the Duffle. The travel size toiletry items and snacks will all be placed into goodie bags to give to military men and women as they leave from the Columbia airport.

2 Hour Delay of School for Wednesday, January 8
Based on winter weather reports that are again predicting extremely cold temperatures, and in an abundance of caution for our students, parents and employees, Richland School District Two will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, January 8.
A two-hour delay means: (1) students who ride the bus should report to their bus stops two hours later than usual; (2) car-riders should report to their schools two hours later than usual; and (3) employees who have not been notified otherwise, should report to work two hours later than usual. For example: schools that usually start at 8 a.m. will start at 10 a.m. instead.
Providing this information now should allow parents ample planning time. Parents and students are advised not to call the district office or their school for information on school cancellations or postponements, but to visit the district Web site at www.richland2.org, R2TV the district’s cable access channel on Time Warner and stay tuned to local media reports for updates.

Recycle Electronics and Ink Cartridges
Do you have an old cell phone, GPS, mp3 player, laptop or digital camera you want to recycle? Do you have empty toner or ink cartridges from your printer that need to be disposed of? Send these items to school and we will help you recycle them. Each item recycled equals points or cash for the school! Just another way to support LCE as well as being responsible with recycling electronics. See list of acceptable items.
