Dr. James Ann Lynch Sheley Award

Congratulations to the James Ann Lynch Sheley Character Award Winners:

Anna Chaneyworth and Kayne Reed

The James Ann Lynch Character Award was developed in the summer of 2010 to recognize a fifth grade student that exhibits exceptional character.

Dr. Lynch, now Dr. Sheley, opened Lake Carolina Elementary in 2002 and served as principal for 8 years.  During those years, the school committed to learning how the brain learns best and how to incorporate lifeskills into our daily lives. Because Dr. Sheley consistently modeled lifeskills during her tenure at LCE, this award celebrates a student who does the same.

Dr. Sheley is currently an Assistant Superintendent in Richland School District Two.

5th Grade American Citizenship Award

The American Citizenship Award is an extremely high honor.  Students receiving this award were selected due to their consistent efforts to follow social awareness, relationship skills, responsible decision making, and the 7 Mindsets.  This group of students exhibits all of the qualities of great leaders, loyal friends, and dedicated scholars. Congratulations!

5th Grade Promotion Parade

5th Grade Families:

We are planning a drive thru parade that is staggered by teacher homerooms throughout the morning of May 29. The schedule is below. We encourage families to decorate their vehicle and even invite other family members or friends to join you in the parade route so they are active participants in our ceremony.

Everyone will enter our campus at our main entrance on Kelly Mill Road and follow our car rider line to the rear of the school. We will have the route lined with our faculty/staff cheering for the 5th graders as you drive thru. The parade route will continue to the front of our school at which each student will be celebrated at the main entrance of our front office. Your child’s teacher and our admin team will be presenting your child with their promotion certificate, other potential awards and gifts.  For everyone’s safety, we ask that you remain in your car at all times. We certainly want to make this a special moment for everyone so we ask that everyone be patient with the process.

Once your child has received their items, we ask that all vehicles exit the campus by turning right onto Kelly Mill Road. We are planning to continue our event even if we have some rain. Any severe weather would cause us to reschedule.

We are extremely proud of our “Seniors”! Many of them have been a part of the Lake Carolina Community their entire career as students. We are grateful for the contributions of each of our students. We are also appreciative of your support as we could not be successful without you. The Gator Family is the best! If you have any questions, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

9:15 - 10:00 AM - Dyer & Hood

10:00 - 10:45 AM - Holmes & Rosenberg

Lower Campus Reading Results

Each year we take tremendous pride in all that our students achieve when reading. This year is no different! We can't celebrate with a school wide assembly and recognize all your hard work, but we do want to recognize you for all you! Ms. Knutson and Mrs. Egan are celebrating you in a video! Keep reading...remember the more you read, the better reader you become.📚

Congratulations to all the students that earned a Beef 'O" Brady's gift certificate!

5th Grade Promotion-May 29, 2020

Hello LCEU Fifth Grade Families,

We are in uncharted waters but we have been focused on making our 5th grade promotion an incredible memory for our students and their families.  The current restrictions do not allow us to have a mass gathering.  It is crucial that we provide a safe and structured event for all involved.  We originally placed Friday, May 29, 2020 as our promotion date so we will keep this date.

We are planning a drive thru parade that is staggered by teacher homerooms throughout the morning of May 29.  The schedule is below.  We encourage families to decorate their vehicle and even invite other family members or friends to join you in the parade route so they are active participants in our ceremony.
