Upper Campus "Starbooks Cafe"

Students at Lake Carolina Upper were welcomed back from winter break with a visit to the Starbooks CafeStarbooks Cafe, set up in the Media Center, encouraged students to be intentional with their selection of books through a planned previewing strategy. Students experienced a "sip" of many of our brand new books purchased by our PTO.

We give a tremendous thank you to PTO for purchasing new informational, high interest books for the students. The Starbooks Cafe was a collaborative effort put together by our Reading Coach, Mrs. Burgos-Carnes, our Media Center Assistant, Mrs. Hahn, and our Media Specialist, Mrs. Medlock.

The students enjoyed the special treat and walked away with a valuable life lesson, “Don't judge a book by its cover."
