Richland Two Middle School Magnet Programs

This year all Middle School Magnet interviews, writing samples and activities will be scheduled on February 7, 2015 at Spring Valley High School. Students will be asked to bring a personally meaningful artifact to the interview. This artifact is primarily used as a prop to put the student as ease and give the interview team a way to personalize the interview.  Students will participate in a 15 minute individual interview with a team of two teachers and then move to the auditorium to complete the writing sample.  From there, students applying to certain magnets will move to another area for a hands-on activity.  More details will come out soon, but for now, please be aware of the upcoming important dates listed below.

Don't forget to turn in your Exercise Counts log when you have filled up a sheet. Any outdoor play, physical play, athletic practices and games count towards minutes earned. Check the school website for more information on the milestones.

Grades and Attendance

You can always check on your student's grades and attendance via Parent Portal.

If you have an active Parent Portal account, you may check your child's grades and attendance records. December 5 will be the interim grade for each subject area for the 2nd nine week grading period. Lower Campus Wall of Heroes

We are excited to begin a new celebratory experience at LCE lower campus. Instead of  the traditional Veteran’s Day ceremony, we will host a special day of reading, with our military families serving  as guest classroom readers, November 11th.  In addition to this, Lake Carolina students will honor Veterans and active military persons that are present, by singing a patriotic song in each  classroom.  Everyone will be invited to wear red, white, and blue. We encourage our military family members to come dressed in uniform.  A Thanksgiving lunch will be served to culminate the celebration.  All family members of students that attend will be welcomed to eat in the Multi-Purpose Room, during their child’s regularly scheduled lunch time.  Parents will need to confirm their attendance, by Friday, November 7th.  A form regarding this will be sent home Monday, November 3rd. We are looking forward to celebrating with you all on November 11th

We will also be honoring our military families on our "Wall of Heroes" that will be displayed all year in the main hall on the Kelly Mill side near the health room. If you would like to recognize a military hero in your family, please send a picture (roughly 5x7) with a description of that person and what makes them special to you.  Please put your child's name and teacher on the back of the photo.  Mr. Bagwell will be collecting entries all year.
