Purple Up for Military Kids 2021

We are celebrating our military students and their families as part of the month of the "Military Child". The month of April is a time to remind us how important they are in the military community. “Purple Up! For Military Kids” is a day to wear purple to show support and thanks to military children for their strength and sacrifices. Wearing purple is a visible way to show our appreciation to military youth. Purple indicates that all branches of the military are supported; Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue all thought to combine together as a single color, purple. (See Month of the Military Child for more information.)

Lake Carolina Elementary students and staff "purpled up" today to show our support of all military children and their families.

Many thanks to all of the military families for your service and sharing your children with us!

Purple Up on April 23

On Friday, April 23, everyone is asked to wear PURPLE to show support for military children. LCE is blessed with a large military population!

Why purple? There’s a tradition in the military referring to the color purple. One use of the color involves the phrase “purple suit” which can refer to a military activity or organization that includes civilians and/or multiple branches of the military. Purple also indicates that all branches of the military are supported. All the service colors are represented including Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue which is said to combine for the mutual benefit of all into the color purple.

Rising 6th Grade Parents: Richland Two Roadshow

Reminder....it is the time of year where students are signing up for classes for the next school year. Each year, elementary schools allow the middle school arts programs to come into their schools and present the Richland Two Roadshow. This event allows 5th grade students to learn more about the band, orchestra, and chorus as well as dance, theatre, and visual arts. This is particularly important to band, orchestra, and chorus because students need to begin these Pathways to Purpose when they begin 6th grade.

This year, the Richland Two Roadshow is virtual. We believe this new format will attract more students and their parents.  The entire Roadshow can be viewed at Richland Two Roadshow.  After viewing, students and/or parents need to complete the Richland Two Middle School Sign Up Form by Monday, May 3.
