The players and high school coach talked with students about the importance of school and how it affects playing sports as well as how they enjoy playing football.

He's on the roof!

Mr. Williams spent the day on the roof of the school after the students met his challenge of reaching our school fund raising goal with our Boosterthon program. Students and their families raised over $40,000 for the school. Thank you to all of the families and friends of LCE for your support!

Spirit Wear

From Lake Carolina PTO...
All Spirit Wear orders have been filled.

We apologize for the delay.  We encountered a back order issue that delayed the entire distribution timeline.

Thank you for your support, patience, and understanding.

If you would like to buy more items that we offered during this order, we have inventory kept at Lower Campus.  Please visit Mrs. Mayo at the main desk to inquire and as of 10/28/14, credit cards can be used for spirit wear purchases.
Please note we even have adult t-shirts (dri-fit navy, and cotton ladies fitted navy) up to 2XL. Quantities limited... Get them while supplies last!
Dear Parents/Guardians,

As you may recall, a transition team of parents, teachers and administration started meeting last school year to talk about logistics for our new campus. These discussions included arrival/dismissal times for both sites. We agreed that we would start the school year and observe patterns to make sure we were safe and efficient.

After monitoring the traffic flow, we are pleased overall with how things have progressed. Families have settled into their routines and we feel we have already made slight adjustments to maximize instruction. We recently shared updates with our PTO Board and the SIC at both campuses and have received their support.

We have noted that the vast majority of our students are on the Upper Campus by 8:00 AM each day.  This has allowed both campuses to start instructional day at 8:00 AM. We also noted that the dismissal process is smoother for both sites if we dismiss the Upper Campus walkers/bike riders first so they can get to their siblings at the Lower Campus and get ahead of heavier traffic.

Please know that we will continue to provide supervision on both campuses starting at 7:30 AM in the mornings and supervise students until they are picked up in afternoon. We are especially sensitive to those families who are split between the Lower and Upper Campus. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding in our car rider lines and with bus transportation. Our ultimate goal is to get our students to their destination safely. We will continue to monitor our traffic flow as we grow.

If you have any questions, please contact either Mr. Williams (jpwilliams@richland2.org) or Dr. Berry (aberry@richland2.org).

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your patience as we work through plans to re-design our Muffins for Moms and Doughnuts for Dads. We truly understand the importance of these events, but with the new federal guidelines, our previous menu items did not meet the guidelines. We have been working with Sodexo, our food service provider, to come up with an alternative option and this has taken a little longer than we thought. We also appreciate the tremendous support of the Village Church, so we wanted to exhaust all options before canceling these events.

We have been told by Sodexo that they can provide us options for our Goodies for Grandparents on Tuesday, November 25th and our breakfast for Lower Campus on February 26th and Upper Campus on February 27th (These were the original dates for Doughnuts for Dads). We would like to invite both moms and dads to join us for the February dates. It is truly important to us that our families have an opportunity to come together. You are welcome to visit both campuses for breakfast or lunch anytime.

Thanks for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Friday, October 3, 2014

Dear Families,

As you may have heard already, the Smart Snacks in Schools federal legislation began on July 1, 2014.  Due to the new federal regulations and strict guidelines regarding the food that may be served to students before school, we have decided to cancel our Muffins for Moms and Donuts for Dads events this year.  Although we looked into "healthy" options, we were concerned that they may not be very tasty.  Please know that moms and dads continue to be welcome to visit both campuses for breakfast or lunch any day!  Thanks for your support and involvement with our school.

Sincerely,
Mr. Williams & Dr. Berry
