7 Habits Breakout Edu @ Upper Campus

During classroom lessons with Mrs. Skinner, the Upper Campus school counselor, students used their knowledge of The Leader in Me 7 Habits in an escape-room inspired activity.  In the Breakout EDU game, teams of students worked collaboratively to solve a series of critical thinking puzzles about the 7 Habits to open a variety of locks on a box.

Everyone did a great job applying their knowledge of The Leader in Me and the 7 Habits to this very fun and challenging game!

Order forms for Strawbridge Portraits are coming home with girls today. If you choose to order portraits, bring the forms with you to the dance this Friday, February 2 from 5:30-8:00pm at Lower Campus.

Please do not send the forms to the school. Extra order forms will be available at the dance. Strawbridge will accept cash, check or credit/debit.

New this year:
There are 3 different choices for portrait backgrounds. Each father/daughter(s) may pick ONE background and go to that location for portraits. To help our lines move quickly, here are the options and where they will be located:

Option 1:
Solid white background — Music room across from cafeteria.

Option 2:
Blue with multicolored hearts and stars — Science lab on Lake Carolina side of building.

Option 3:
Beige with flowers — Lobby on Lake Carolina side of building. PLEASE

Entering the building:
The doors on the Lake Carolina side will be locked to prevent trips and falls around the photography equipment. Please park in the large parking lot on the Kelly Mill side or in the bus loop and enter through those doors.

Service Learning at Upper Campus

Lake Carolina Upper Campus is excited about newest Service Learning Project.  We are collecting candy to make Police Officer Survival Kits for the Richland County Sheriff's Department. Our goal is to make 100 kits. We plan to present these survival kits to the Richland County Sheriff's Department officers soon.

Each grade level is collecting different items for the survival kits between January 29 and February 9.

  • 3rd grade: fun size Pay Day and Hershey Kisses
  • 4th grade: Peppermint Patties, Tootsie Rolls, and Smarties
  • 5th grade: fun size Snickers, LifeSavers and Starburst

The items represent:

  • Life Savers: To remind you of the many times you have been one
  • Starburst: For that burst of energy you will need
  • Smarties: To give you wisdom for those split second decisions
  • Hersey Kisses: To show our love for you
  • Tootie Rolls: Because you have to roll with the punches
  • Pay Day: Because you are not doing it for the money
  • Peppermint Patty: To help keep your cool
