American Heart Association Art Contest Winner

Congratulations to Kaylee Edwards! Kaylee, a 4th grader, was one of three finalists from the Midlands for her American Heart Association drawing. She received a certificate, an art kit and her art work will posted on their website.

Upper Campus Gator Games

The Gator Games t-shirt for Upper Campus will be different than the one for Lower Campus.  The order form will be out after spring break. Upper Campus Gator Games is on Friday, May 25.

Parent Workshop on Resiliency

Lake Carolina Elementary is happy to welcome Parent2Parent and serve as a host for the organization's workshop about boosting children's resiliency skills on April 13 at 8:30AM at the Upper Campus.

Recycling Printer Cartridges

Do you have empty toner or ink cartridges from your printer that need to be disposed of? Does your business have printer cartridges that are empty?

Send these items to either campus and we will help you recycle them. Each item recycled equals points or cash for the school! Just another way to support LCE as well as being responsible with recycling and reusing. List of Accepted Items

Lower Campus Safety Update

Beginning Monday, March 26th all Early Gator (6:00am-7:30am) students must be dropped off in the bus loop. Parents will continue to escort students in and sign them in at the desk.

All students that are not a part of our Early Gator program may be dropped off after 7:30am.

Kelly Mill Side Drop Off Changes:

•  7:30-8:00am Only students can enter through the doors by the cafeteria doors
• All parents must enter through the front door and check in at the kiosk

1st Day of Spring Planting

Lower Campus Nature Club was thrilled to partner with Blythewood Rotary and 4H to plant 50 trees yesterday. They planted Cherry trees, Oaks, Crape Myrtles and Magnolia trees.The students really enjoyed being a part of this wonderful experience and shared their experience with everyone today on the morning show.

SC State Geography Bee

Congratulations to Harrison Knight, a 5th grader, for qualifying for the 30th South Carolina State Bee on Friday, April 6, 2018. He will represent Lake Carolina Elementary Upper Campus.

The South Carolina State Bee event will be held at the Brookland Baptist Church Banquet and Conference Center and is only for qualifying students. The champion from each state and territory will advance to the National Geographic Bee Championship, which will be held May 20-23 at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Spring NWEA MAP Assessment

Please make sure your child is at school on scheduled testing days, has a good breakfast on days of testing as well as adequate rest the night prior to testing. Thank you!

Lower Campus: March 19 and March 20 Second grade students will take MAP Reading. Then March 21 and March 22 Second grade students will take MAP Math. Your child's teacher will send home more specific dates for you.

Upper Campus: Reading on Tuesday, March 20 and Math on Thursday, March 22.

Supporting RCSD with Service Learning

The AMAZING students of Lake Carolina Elementary School raises $300 for the RCSD AND made up 200 goody bags for our deputies!! We are blessed to have these youths in Richland County!! Thank you all! ❤️🙏 pic.twitter.com/UbnYkWHBHE

Student leaders presented a $300 check to the Richland County Sheriff's Department Foundation and over 200 police officer survival kits. Thank you for all of the donations to this service learning project at Upper Campus.

Congratulations to Future Chefs Finalist

Congratulations to Layla Aiton! 

She will represent Lake Carolina Elementary as a finalist in this year’s Future Chefs Healthy Comfort Food Culinary Competition in Richland Two. 

The competition will be at Jackson Creek Elementary on Wednesday, March 14 at 4PM.
