Reminder from Blythewood Middle School
From Blythewood Middle School to our current 5th grade families:
Blythewood Middle School is having their annual BMS Pathways to Success on Thursday, April 19th at 6:00 p.m., beginning in the school gym. The previous orientation in January provided information for those families considering Expanded Choice, while this program will be focusing on making a successful transition for those students and their parents who will be attending Blythewood Middle this Fall.
You will learn about summer opportunities like the BMS JumpStart Camp, BMS Charger Pride Summer Enrichment and afterschool program; receive information about summer reading activity and information about enrichment offerings. Additionally, you will find out what Charger Kick-Off is all about and how you can receive information and keep in touch. The evening provides an opportunity to visit the 6th grade area classrooms and meet the teachers. Our goal is to provide tools for a smooth transition from elementary school to the middle school.
We are looking forward to meeting and working with you soon.

Purple Up 2018
April is the month of the "Military Child" and the nation celebrates military kids. It is a time to remind us how important they are in the military community. “Purple Up! For Military Kids” is a day to wear purple to show support and thanks to military children for their strength and sacrifices. Wearing purple is a visible way to show our appreciation to military youth. Purple indicates that all branches of the military are supported; Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue all thought to combine together as a single color, purple. (See Month of the Military Child 2018 for more information.)
Lake Carolina Elementary students and staff "purpled up" today to show our support of all military children and their families. Currently, our school has over 300 students that have military parents.
