Richland Library Play Freely Van

The School Improvement Council has partnered with Richland Library to bring access to literacy resources to you with the Play Freely Van!

Please make plans to attend the final Lake Carolina Farmers Market of the season on Thursday, December 9th from 3-8PM.

Special guests, Santa and the Grinch, will be on hand for photos! Children will receive stockings, enjoy a free petting zoo, and so much more!

2nd Quarter Interim Reports

Interim reports for 3rd-5th grade students for the 2nd quarter grading period will be accessible from Parent Portal today, Friday, December 3. When you log into your account, the current grades for your child will automatically appear on the screen. You can access Parent Portal at https://parents.richland2.org.

The 2nd quarter grading period ends on January 13, 2022.

Lower and Upper Campus Lost and Found

Our lost and found areas are overflowing with clothing and other items. Encourage your student to check lost and found for anything they may be missing. 

For LOWER campus parents: We will roll the racks of clothing outside for you to pull over and check for missing items over the next week. 

All items not picked up will be donated over Winter Break.

Chromebooks

 

Please remember to charge Chromebooks every night so they are ready for the next school day.

Chromebooks should be brought to school every day fully charged and ready for classwork or testing. Thank you!

The second graders learned about the history of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and created their own balloons based on a book character. The creative and proud second graders paraded through the school to show off their hard work!

4th Grade Cultures of South Carolina

Fourth grade students enjoyed learning about cultures from South Carolina history through activities and foods. Students participated in: making butter from cream and salt; making pomander balls from oranges, cloves and cinnamon; weaving paper to simulate basket weaving; and Native American games. 

Many thanks to all of the parents that donated food and materials as well as to those that volunteered their time!

Week 3 of AVID @ Upper Campus

The AVID organization focus for this week at Upper Campus is to charge chromebooks each night and bring them to school each day. Students should find a specific place to charge each night and pack their chromebook each morning in their backpack. This is an organizational strategy that continues developing and using Organizational Tools to develop students' ability to organize themselves and their time. This week's focus  extends last week's challenge for making sure students have all of their school materials with them when they arrive. The goal for this week is for all students to have a fully charged chromebook for a great day of learning!

Week 2 of AVID @ Upper Campus

Upper Campus is continuing our focus on developing and using Organizational Tools to develop students' ability to organize themselves and their time. This week's focus is on students organizing themselves and making sure they have all of their school materials with them when they arrive. The goal for this week is for all students to remember the things they need for a great day of learning at school.

At Upper Campus, we are celebrating being an AVID school! Our focus this year is on developing and using Organizational Tools to develop students' ability to organize themselves and their time. Each week (until Winter Break) we will have a special focus on ways to be ready for school each day. Our first week has been focused on being organized to help reduce tardiness. Do you know that time in class is directly related to positive student outcomes? We want our Gators here and ready for a day of learning by 8:05AM.

We had an incredible time these past two weeks during our #Boosterthon Program, and a fun day at our Fun Runs! 

We are proud of our students, families, teachers, business sponsors, staff, and so many more. It has been an incredible event, and with your help we were able to raise $50,000!

Final Night for Boosterthon...Fun Run Tomorrow

Tomorrow is our BIG Celebration Event Day - our FUN RUN! This means that tonight is the LAST NIGHT for donations!

If you haven’t registered, shared, or given, IT’S NOT TOO LATE! Every donation and share counts BIG time toward our goal.  We have a new stretch goal of $40,000! When we hit that goal, our Principals are going to be SLIMED and then ICEBUCKETED!

DHEC Guidelines for Student Illness

 

Dear Parents/Guardians, 

We want to thank you for your continued support this school year. As we enter cold and flu season, we want to remind you of the protocols set forth by DHEC in regard to student illness. If a student has a fever of 100.4F or 100F with additional symptoms, they should not come to school. They may return when they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever lowering medication such as Motrin or Tylenol. Additionally, School Nurses are still required to exclude students with a new or worsening cough, difficulty breathing, or loss of taste or smell. This is the DHEC exclusion list. This list can serve as a helpful resource when deciding if your student is well enough to attend school. We are always available to discuss your concerns and help answer questions.

Wednesday Boosterthon Update

We are so grateful for your hard work and generosity so far in our Boosterthon program! We have already raised over $32,000 for our school, and we’re not stopping there! We have a NEW goal of $40,000 to hit before our Fun Run!

Tonight we have a few FUN challenges!  ANY student that gets a donation of ANY amount TONIGHT, gets to wear a HAT to school TOMORROW! Cash and check are accepted.

To help us reach our goal, we have a special weekend challenge for you! Any student that gets $2 pledge per lap, or $60 in flat donations, will get a BONUS prize in addition to their regular prizes!

Booserthon Update

Happy Thursday LCE families! We are already over $4,500 raised in our race for $30,000 for our #Boosterthon program.

Today with Sports City Worldwide, students learned about Curiosity through a scuba diver in Australia! 

Tonight, we have a super easy challenge! All we are asking is for you to get your student registered to MYBOOSTER.COM! EVERY student who is logged onto MYBOOSTER.COM tonight, gets to wear their PAJAMAS tomorrow!

That is not all though, the first class at Lower Campus to have 100% registration on MYBOOSTER.COM will get a disco dance party with the Booster team and the first class at Upper Campus will get fun MYSTERY box full of fun surprises for every student in that class!
