Grief Support for Students and Families
The camp is open to youth ages 5-18 and their caregivers who have experienced the loss of a loved one in the past three years (must have at least one adult attend with the camper). Materials will be mailed in advance, including grief journals, activity supplies, and t-shirts. There is a $20 administrative fee (per family) to help offset the administrative time of processing applications; HOWEVER if that fee is a financial hardship, families can apply for an application fee waiver after their applications have been accepted and confirmed.
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2nd online at www.camphandsofhope.org. Registration will remain open until spaces are filled. To learn more, see the brochure/flyer.

Upper Campus Students---Litter Trashes Everyone Contest
Hey creative Upper Campus Gators! There is a state-wide drawing contest for elementary students. Palmetto Pride, South Carolina's anti-littering and beautification organization, needs your entries!
If you want to participate, create a unique drawing of our state or community that promotes picking up litter or beautification. The theme is "Litter Trashes Everyone". The paper to draw on needs to be picked up from the school's main office. Or it has to be 14" x 8.5" plain white paper. (That's an odd size for paper.)
Important: your drawing needs to have no more than 5 colors and completed artwork is due by February 15th to Mrs. McConnell. One winner from our school will go on to the regional contest. Please put your full name, grade level and teacher's name on the back of your work.
Check out the flyer for more information and let me know if you have any questions. Google Palmetto Pride and click on images to see some past winners. Some are from LCEU!
If you have questions, check your Art Google Classroom for information or email me at emcconnell@richland2.org. Hope to see some great entries!
