Our 5th grade students participated in "Immigration Day" to summarize the significance of large-scale immigration and the contributions of immigrants to America in the early 1900’s.
Students visited stations that were re-enactments of Ellis Island so they could experience what life might have been like to immigrate to the United States. Students also researched European and Asian countries that had people immigrating in the early 1900's and presented to their classmates as well as bringing a food item from that country to share.
