Gator Fest Sponsorships

R2 Ready to Read


MAP Testing---March 14-18


The spring session of the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) Assessment will be next week.

Please make sure your child is at school on scheduled testing days, has a light breakfast on days of testing as well as adequate rest the night prior to testing. Additional tips to help prepare students for this test are to arrive at school on time, encourage your student to take their time, read all questions carefully and do their best!

2nd Grade:  March 14th and 16th (Reading); March 17th and 18th (Math)

3rd-5th Grades: March 15th (Reading) and March 17th (Math)

Palmetto Gold and Silver Award

The South Carolina Department of Education released the winners of the Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards for 2014–2015. The Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards program recognizes schools for attaining high levels of general performance and for making substantial progress in closing the achievement gap between disaggregated groups. 

Lake Carolina Elementary was one of the 15 Richland Two Schools/Centers that earned a Palmetto Gold or Silver Awards. The school was awarded Palmetto Gold Awards for both General Performance and Closing the Achievement Gap. 

Congratulations to all of the students, staff, parents and community members that make the LCE community! Thank you for all you do for education!

We are having many items such as lunch boxes, homework, and books being dropped off daily in the front office.

Please help your child pack these items before they leave for school in the mornings to help prevent disruptions to instructional time when we call into a classroom for a child to pick these items up.
