Please let everyone know…….
Voting for the Grand Prize/Top Teacher begins right after the show on Thursday, May 7
and will end on Friday, May 8th at 8am Eastern Time.

During that time, people are allowed to vote once an hour per IPS address for their Favorite Top
Teacher. The Top Teacher, who receives the most votes, will become our Grand Prize Winner.

SC Academy of Science Challenge

         

Eight Lake Carolina Elementary students earned honors by completing the South Carolina Academy of Science challenge for 4th through 6th grades this spring. This 40-question packet invited students to investigate and research science and mathematics topics to increase skills, knowledge, and interest in science. 800 students participated state-wide for school, regional, and state honors.

         
Congratulations to 4th graders Blake Blalock, Aidan Harshany, Corbin McCollum, Meghan Pasala, Asia Williams, and Dana Witherspoon for earning school-level honors; Meghan and Blake tied as school-level winners! 

Special recognition goes to 5th graders Alyssa Graham and Steve Robinson for regional honors for the Midlands school districts. 

Excellent effort Gators and many thanks to Mr. Kevin Durden for sponsoring this event!

Medications in the Health Room

Please pick up all over the counter and prescription medications (inhalers, Epi-pens, etc. ) from the health room by Friday, June 5th at noon. All medications left in the health room after this date will be discarded. 

No medications are not kept in the health room over the summer.

Book Swap at Lower Campus


Lower Campus students can bring their “gently used” books to the media center from May 4th - May 22nd. A ticket will be issued for each book that is in usable condition. Students can then come into the media center on May 28th  to “spend” their tickets and get some books to read for the remainder of the school year and into the summer.
