Read Books 2 Raise Bucks

Where Does the Money Go?

Over the last few years, the PTO has used your generous donations to our fundraisers to purchase many things for both campuses, such as playground equipment, sun shades, murals, poster maker, laminator, tables and chairs for large group events, heavy duty electric pencil sharpeners for every classroom, and hundreds of classroom and library books. Additionally, the PTO funds classroom celebrations twice a year, teacher appreciation events, birthday gifts for teachers, family fun nights, Gator Games and other special events. We also give every student a book each year.

Thank you for your support!

College Colors with Crazy Hair and Socks Day

We wore college team colors with crazy hair and socks today to support higher education and our PTO fundraiser, Read Books 2 Raise Bucks. Thanks to everyone for a great day at LCE!

Read Books 2 Raise Books: Weekend Challenge

What a great start to our fundraiser! We've hit all our challenges thus far and are well on our way to hitting our $50,000 total goal.

Since we are doing this fundraiser on our own, LCE keeps 100% of our donations!

WEEKEND CHALLENGE:
Raise $30,000 by Tuesday morning and students get the opportunity to take off their shoes and chew bubble gum in class on Thursday.

Bonus: Any student who gets a NEW $25 donation over the weekend earns a coupon for a free Cici's Kids Buffet.

Author Visit from #JustaChicken

#JustaChicken authors, Langston Moore and Preston Thorne, former South Carolina football players, visited Upper Campus today to celebrate summer reading and promote lifelong readers. They shared how important it is to read to "exercise your brain" and always believing in yourself.

Fundraiser Update--Wednesday

Wow! We hit our first challenge goal and raised $10,000 - - thank you to all who contributed! Our students earned the honor of wearing crazy hair and socks to school this Friday, September 1. It is also College Colors Day so our students will surely stand out.

Our next challenge is to hit $15,000 by Thursday night and I'm confident we can do it.  When students hit that goal, they will be allowed to wear hats to school on Tuesday, September 5..

This Friday, September 1 we will be distributing our first round of incentive prizes to students who have raised over $50 (Scholastic Bucks, front row seating, limo rides, elite wall). The details of these incentives can be found on the fundraiser documents that your student brought home or electronically here. There will be other opportunities to receive these. This is just our first round of distribution.

Thank you again for your support with Read Books 2 Raise Bucks: The more YOU give, the more THEY get!

Read Books 2 Raise Bucks Update

Thank you for a great kick off to our Read Books 2 Raise Bucks Fundraiser. Yesterday we issued some challenges to the students.

To get at least one donation and approximately 200 of our students did just that.

To raise $10,000 by Wednesday at dismissal and we are more than half way to that goal.

Please help us get the rest of the way by assisting your student in getting another donation tonight. If we reach this $10,000 mini-goal, the students get to wear crazy hair and socks to school on Friday.

Thank you for supporting LCE. We are on our way to hitting our $50,000 goal!
