Harlem Globetrotter Ticket Winners

Congratulations to our 2 winners! Kennedy Blankenship in Mrs. Rholetter's kindergarten class and Elton Tumey in Mrs. Knight's 3rd-grade class won tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters on January 12, 2018.

The tickets were a prize for completing a reading incentive that was developed in partnership with WLTX.  All students who completed the reading and turned in the form were eligible for the ticket drawing.

5th Grade Immigration Day

Fifth graders participated in "Immigration Day" to summarize the significance of large-scale immigration and the contributions of immigrants to America in the early 1900’s, including the countries from which they came, the opportunities and resistance they faced when they arrived, and the cultural and economic contributions they made to this nation.

Students visited stations that were re-enactments of Ellis Island so they could experience what life might have been like to immigrate to the United States. Students also researched European and Asian countries that had people immigrating in the early 1900's and presented to their classmates as well as bringing a food item from that country to share.

Diamond Del Visits 3rd Grade

Diamond Del came to Upper Campus for third graders to experience gem mining. This hands-on experience as part of their study of rocks and minerals in science is always a favorite with the students.

Thank You for Supporting Winter Days Service Learning Project

Thank you for supporting our first service learning project at Upper Campus this year. Our school collected a total of 2728 items.

Congratulations to Ms. Earle's class for collecting the most items...384 canned goods and non-perishable items!

All items will be donated to Spring Valley High School's Winter Days to be distributed to those in need in the Midlands area.

Garrison Thomas, Chloe Walters and Max Miller, students from Spring Valley's Winter Days Committee, picked up all of our donations.

We appreciate your support and contributions to this service Learning Project!
