Disability Awareness Training

All new students to Lake Carolina Upper Campus and 3rd graders participated in disability sensitivity training today. This event is in conjunction with Richland Two's Kindness Month. The training involves each student rotating through stations that simulate various disabilities to build empathy for others. Volunteers run each station to help the students "experience" the disabilities and classroom teachers follow-up with classroom discussions.

Many thanks to our school counselor, Mrs. Skinner, for organizing this training and special thanks to the parent volunteers: Kim Toogood, Talia Lynn, Deitra Matthews, Kimberly Blake, April Jarrett, Michelle Hubbard, Julius Frazier, Stephanie Jackson, Tayyaba Sadiq, Maria Guerrero, Sandra Meyers, Nicole Tyler, Tasha McAden, Isabelle Henderson.
