We are excited to begin a new celebratory experience at LCE lower campus. Instead of the traditional Veteran’s Day ceremony, we will host a special day of reading, with our military families serving as guest classroom readers, November 11th. In addition to this, Lake Carolina students will honor Veterans and active military persons that are present, by singing a patriotic song in each classroom. Everyone will be invited to wear red, white, and blue. We encourage our military family members to come dressed in uniform. A Thanksgiving lunch will be served to culminate the celebration. All family members of students that attend will be welcomed to eat in the Multi-Purpose Room, during their child’s regularly scheduled lunch time. Parents will need to confirm their attendance, by Friday, November 7th. A form regarding this will be sent home Monday, November 3rd. We are looking forward to celebrating with you all on November 11th!
We will also be honoring our military families on our "Wall of Heroes" that will be displayed all year in the main hall on the Kelly Mill side near the health room. If you would like to recognize a military hero in your family, please send a picture (roughly 5x7) with a description of that person and what makes them special to you. Please put your child's name and teacher on the back of the photo. Mr. Bagwell will be collecting entries all year.
