Ladies First Group

We would like to commend Mrs. Sharon Nelson, the Upper Campus Later Gator Director, for chairing LCEU's first 3rd-5th grade girls mentoring group, Ladies First! The group consisted of approximately 40 girls who met bi-weekly after school to learn about various topics including sisterliness, vision, empowerment, and tenacity.

On Sunday, June 3rd, the group was highlighted at a garden tea party sponsored by the Trust Your Struggle (TYS) organization as their culminating end of the year activity.

Our assistant principal, Mrs. Chandler-Smith, was the Mistress of Ceremony, Dr. Rosalyn Artis, the first female president of Benedict College, was the guest speaker. Also attending were Ms. Kirby Self, Miss South Carolina Teen, and Ms. Addie Ledbetter, Miss Columbia Northeast.

This has been an amazing first year for our girls in Ladies First and we are excited to see what the future holds for this dynamic group!
