News from the Nurses

We are in the middle of flu season and our schools are not immune. The Health Room at each campus are seeing students daily with fevers and flu symptoms.

Flu symptoms include:
  • Fever 100f or higher
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • runny or stuffy nose
  • body aches
  • headache
  • feeling really tired, generalized fatigue

Students should not attend school if they have any of the above symptoms. Also remember that if your child has a fever they must be fever free for at least 24 hours prior to returning to school. Please provide an excuse to attendance upon their return to school. To stop the spread of flu you should stay home when sick, avoid close contact with individuals who are sick, wash your hands frequently, and cover coughs and sneezes.
