Lake Carolina Elementary is one of 14 schools in Richland Two that received the Palmetto Gold Award for general performance. The school was also recognized for Palmetto Gold for closing the achievement gap. Only 5 percent of schools earned Gold designations in both categories.
The criteria for the Palmetto Gold and Silver Award program is established by the Education Oversight Committee.
“We are proud of all of our schools who have earned the Palmetto Gold and Silver distinctions this year. The award highlights the hard work and dedication our teachers and staff put in everyday to provide Richland Two students a first-class education,” said Superintendent Debbie Hamm.
